Mn-, LaMn- and LaCaMn-citrates were synthesized at 60–120°C in ethylene glycol medium using chlorides or nitrates as metal
sources. Their composition, IR spectra and thermal decomposition were studied. Equimolar La/Mn ratio has been established
in the complex, prepared from chloride solution with the same initial composition of the metals. In the isolated three-metallic
complex the molar ratio of the metals deviates from the composition in the initial solution. The final products of the heating
of Mn- and mixed-metal LaMn-citrates at 1000°C are phase-homogeneous Mn3O4 (hausmannite) and LaMnO3 respectively. Parasitic phase(s) are observed in LaxCa1−xMnyO3, produced from LaCaMn-citrate. 相似文献

Single-molecule studies that allow to compute pKa values, proton affinities (gas-phase acidity/basicity) and the electrostatic energy of solvation have been performed for a heterogeneous set of 26 organic compounds. Quantum mechanical density functional theory (DFT) using the Becke-half&half and B3LYP functionals on optimized molecular geometries have been carried out to investigate the energetics of gas-phase protonation. The electrostatic contribution to the solvation energies of protonated and deprotonated compounds were calculated by solving the Poisson equation using atomic charges generated by fitting the electrostatic potential derived from the molecular wave functions in vacuum. The combination of gas-phase and electrostatic solvation energies by means of the thermodynamic cycle enabled us to compute pKa values for the 26 compounds, which cover six distinct chemical groups (carboxylic acids, benzoic acids, phenols, imides, pyridines and imidazoles). The computational procedure for determining pKa values is accurate and transferable with a root-mean-square deviation of 0.53 and 0.57 pKa units and a maximum error of 1.0 pKa and 1.3 pKa units for Becke-half&half and B3LYP DFT functionals, respectively. 相似文献

A number of ionic chelate complexes of maltol(A) and hafnium(IV) the type[(η5−C5H5)2HfL]+[MCl3]− (B) [HL=maltol; M=Zn(II), Cd(II), Hg(II), Cu(II)]have been synthesized and characterized by spectral studies (IR, UV, 1H NMR and 13C NMR). The stoichiometry of the complexes has been confirmed by conductance measurements. Thermogravimetric (TG) and differential
thermal analytical (DTA) studies have been carried out for these complexes and from TG curves, the order, apparent activation
energy and apparent activation entropy of the thermal decomposition reactions have been elucidated .The order in each case
has been determined to be one and the degree of spontaneity and lability have been inferred from the apparent activation energy
and entropy, respectively. Thermal parameters have been correlated with some structural aspects of the complexes concerned.
From differential thermal analysis curves, the heat of reaction has been calculated.

A nickel catalyst was nodeled with ligand L^2,[NH=CH-CH=CH-0]^-,which should have potential use as a syndiotactic plyolefin catalyst,and the reaction mechanism was studied by theoretical calculations using the density functinal method at the B3LYP/LANL2MB level.The mechanism involves the formation of the intermediate [NiL^2Me]^ ,in which the metal occupies a T-shaped geometry.This intermediate has two possible structures with the methyl group trans either to the oxygen or to the nitrogen atom of L^2.The results show that both structures can lead to the desired product via similar reaction paths,A and B.Thus,the polymerization could be considered as taking place either with the alkyl group occupying the position trans to the Ni-0 or trans to the Ni-N bond in the catalyst.The polymerization process thus favors the catalysis of syndiotactic polyolefins.The syndiotactic synthesis effects could also be enhanced by varations in the ligand substituents.From energy considerations,we can conclude that it is more favorable for the methyl ttrans-O position to form a complex than to occupy the trans-N position.From bond length considerations,it is also more favoured for ethene to occupy the trans-O position than to occupy the trans-N position. 相似文献

The dissociation of water adsorbed on the surface of NiO was investigated by using the semi-empirical SCF MO method MSINDO.
Simulations were based on embedded cluster models representing the (100) surface, with and without a monatomic step. The angle
formed between the metal adsorption site and the O–H bond associated with water has been found to be critical to the energetics
of the dissociation process. Based on this criterion, it was shown that water dissociation is favorable on the stepped surface,
but highly unlikely on the planar surface. In addition, the activation energy required for water dissociation in a monatomic
NiO step was considerably lower than for dissociation at the planar surface. The high activation energy associated with water
dissociation on the planar surface is attributed to the rigidity of the NiO lattice.

The exchange part of the usual Hartree-Fock potential in the unrestricted Hartree-Fock (UHF) theory is suitablyaveraged to construct an, average one-electron model Hamiltonian which generates a set of spin-restricted one-electron orbitals in
a self-consistent manner. These orbitals are then used to calculate the electronic energy of the open-shell system by using
the proper functional form for the energy which handles the exchange terms correctly. The eigenvalues ofF
av can be used for calculating either the spin-polarised or spin-averaged ionisation potentials of different orbitals at theKoopmans’ theorem level of approximation. Comparison ofE
